We will talk about the already-here-but-not-really HTML5 and what it means for us as web people:
- What's the point? Why do I care?
- New markup
- new features with , , geolocation, etc (and what the browser vendors are doing to screw it all up)
- New semantic markup like , and
- Current state of browser support (and how to "fix" IE...)
- What it means for search engines and, more importantly, users
- Should I start using HTML5 today? If so, how can I?
We'll also step through a conversion of a blog template from HTML4 syntax into HTML5.
(Nate Todd will be presenting. This is *tentative* as he travels often for work, but hopefully all will work out!)
